More of the pillow and paper class

Pillow 2 - detail
First the detail with a needle tatted ornament.
I am simply dabbling with needle tatting - so experts see my
mistakes. The turning was not always done in the right way.
Pillow 2 - detail
And here is the completed pillow - I am not sure it will be a pillow
after all. It has got rather a funny shape: 32 x 21,5 cm.
It was in Karen Ruane's class on Pillows and Papers. - Mostly handsewn.

Pillow 2 - completed but not stuffed
It might hang on a wall as well.

This morning in the park - wild geese
I practised the pin pillow fabrication -
and I had the idea of making 7 little balls instead of 6 - and it worked fine.

My next pillow and wild garden

I don't yet know how I will go on with this one

It is Karen Ruane's class on Pillows and Papers.

My fabric stock is so limited at the moment. Two silk strips fastened with
running and buttonhole stitches.
The patterned fabric is no pure cotton, however, I like the colours.
I embellished it with many bullion knots, wrapping each one twenty times.

... and April can be wonderful in our "wild" garden -

rosé and yellow

blue sky and clouds and strong wind.

I am drying my laundry in the old fashioned way -

and supporting the clothsline with a long stick because the distance

house - tree is 20 m long

We call it luxury camping - it is the renovation

of an old house in France.

Pillow, the first ....

I am in Karen Ruane's class and doing a lot of hand stitching

which means that my fingers are stitched, too.

It is the unstuffed pillow - four strips are sewn over

a little pocket to close it loosely

and there is another pocket on the side with the

black liberty prairie point.

I stuffed the little pin pillow

It is very soft and here lying on my

journal with all my notes about Karens tutorial.

I love how she calls it a "bundle of joy" --- it is!

What's going to be a pillow....

The class is going on..
(see my previous post and here )

I am using bullion knots

I hear you shouting: One is missing --

Yes, it was too late to do another one.

House renovation is France is also going on.

(from France)

I am in a class....

.......by Karen Ruane click

The class is working on "Pillows and Pages" ---

up to now without the pages - just sewing and stitching.

These are my fabrics (I had to take a choice with me to France -

in boxes - as I always do - when DH is renovating the farmhouse)

But I saw now that I would need a greater choice

for several pillows...... so this will be for later.

This is my start....

I am adding prairie points

I was too fast and cut two holes instead of one.

I like mending, haha. It does not matter for it is on

the backside.

Look at this - isn't it just sweet? You might think that my points

are not symmetrical - I want them like that.

I used bullion knots at the large yellow circle on the right

and interchanged chain and feather stitch at the small circle.

(I am actually in France)

Mini-class

It is spring - and it seems that it made not only juices
of nature rise but also mine:
I registered to a mini-class with Karen Ruane:
It is called Pillows and Pages - and this looks so promising...
I copied these two photos from her page
She makes beautiful things!
I have to plan now for the pillow - large or small -
colour or no colour, coordinating fabrics -
everything else I hope is on my shelves and in my boxes.
