Trees, too near the house

Those two pines were our problem - too near to the house

 a storm could throw the tops on our roof.

Moreover they were overgrown by wild wine - nice to see

in autumn - better than the branchless trunks

Quite nice like this - the green leaves are however wild wine

We decided to have them cut - the tree cutters worked fast

with. this enormous machine - they grab the tree and sew it underneeth

the gripper 




and deposits it on the path where a truck with gripper transported it to the

road and on to another truck 

We were so impressed - they worked about 1 1/2 hours.

It is made of fabric beads - fabric (I told already in a previous post)

DD offered me after a journey to Istanbul

I made rather long beads - it is all one fabric - it has stripes - so I cut

them in a way to get esmerald green beads and red and turquoise ones -

Just coincidentially the group of trees - needle lace - show the same 

colours - my hands did it without me thinking to do this choice.

Trees can be strong

 

I was wondering about the meaning of this sculpture.

The woman standing on the left is looking at the man on the right

who has a friendly face looking down at the kneeling young man

who seems to stretch himself. Maybe I will find out one day.

Also in 1996 bronze "masks" were added to the statues. Steven Post states, “the statues were meant to be ‘temporary’ in that they were not made of bronze. Vandals destroyed some of the faces of the statues over the years, so the artist and the city decided to replace the faces with the bronze ‘mask’ that the statues all now ‘wear’.”[4]

It is February

In Karlsruhe

We walk to town - it is about 2,5 km. Here we are on our way back.

The trees are being cut every year

Lace - hiding a seam with French knots and buttonhole stitches -

cross stitch letters.

Don't ask me what it is going to be - just a sample perhaps.
