As time runs

Our new holiday home in the Black Forest offers a fantastic
view - below it is autumn

and here after the first snow fall

in the other direction families are using the slope for sleighing -
photo taken by the webcam on the tower in Dobel

But then on a workday in the late afternoon like this

I am knitting, unravelling and knitting again

finally made up my mind for the pattern

Sewing by hand and giving away - those mushrooms went
to Vermont, I saw one hanging on DD‘s  christmas tree -
the pattern is by „AnnWood handmade“

I love tatting and made several samples for earrings

But then a sad event and loss of a friend - dear Dirk W.
we won‘t forget you. You were multitalented and
interested in many crafts - an artist, creating paintings,
earthenware and probably much more…..

Our weather down in the plain is like this - no biking but
short walks.

I wish you all a happy healthy new year.

Update aus dem Schwarzwald

We like to be in the BlackForest
in our holiday house - 700 m above sea level -
it can be very sunny there while being foggy
in the plaine of River Rhine - Rheinebene

Very cold in front of the house

A card wich I made years ago - and it is going to DSL (Schwägerin)
It is here just to remember me of things I made

Adventszeit in Dobel

Decoration - as every year -

Rundbändchen flechten nach japanischer Art

Candle shades thanks to Tanja Steinbach, SWR Kaffee oder Tee
A very nice television emission for afternoons in
times when you don‘t have to work in the garden

Beause family gatherings were not possible due to covid19
we made seprarate photos during summer
and I put them together as a collage (thanks to Pic Collage)

Merry Christmas to whoever is reading this and
a Happy Healthy New Year

Summer Twenty Twenty

Summer started for us in Croatia in June - I had the Adriatic
Sea for myself - can you see me? Ok, it was in the morning
but also later on it was never crowded due to the horrible virus.

Our favorite Park Café - where they have internet for us with just
a cup of excellent coffee - and it is cool inside - people had to keep
distance inside or outside

This is not our yacht - we like our two wheels

Below: We were absent for three weeks - this belonged
to grandson #1 - looks crispy

I had more luck with outside plants

And back again with coffee guests

Mice which I love more than the real ones - very nice mice
They are from Ann Wood handmade
pattern-and-instructions-and-its-free/

...and it is free and so wonderfully explained

Small practical things, I am reading the posts of
www.sewcanshe.com - she shows lovely little things to
create. Summer was too hot for larger projects.

Below:
This is a Tanja-Steinbach-creation - a crocheted lantern
I took it with me for an „outside-sit-in“ with friends in
Blackforest - naturally with a battery-powered little candle

Walking - this is also Blackforest - high up - 620 above sea level
no fir trees - even corn fields and villages

And again the dotee dolls - I love small

This is the end for now
I will show much more soon

Not lazy

I start being lazy - walking on the high plane Schwarzwald
We (DH and me) love to walk a little then sit and admire nature

Mushroom - I am delighted but didn‘t take it -
„himself“ is distrustful

This one is edible - and a beauty

But then - I am also stitching
EPP English paper piecing - I am sewing along without
plan - it is still lying around like this - waiting for an idea
how to proceed

I am not wasting the backside but cutting it out and making  my
meditation stitching on it

Still no plan but fixing it on a background
How awkward -  I want to add more embroidery

Some painted Vliesofix  „Wonder Under“ from years ago
added and a date

It is a page for a collection of small works
And here again the front, quilted

Yes this is a butterfly bound book with little stitcheries

I bought a bookbinding tutorial of Anne Lange and I love
this kind of binding folded pages

Another page - a stitched leaf
Sharon Boggon is still publishing TAST stitches - and everybody
interested can take part - it is free

And yes, we met our grandsons - at MacDo‘s like always.
L is studying in Karlsruhe
Y came to visit
and the beautiful young lady - L - is the girlfriend of L
We are living 10 km outside of Karlsruhe so meeting in town
is more convenient - students have their own tight schedule

Again back in Schwarzwald - Blackforest

Our luck must be limitless with so many ladybugs/ladybirds
on the window outside
An invasion - they gather there when we start to heat

This is autumn folks and my view out of the bug-window
