TAST stitches - applied

BEFORE: Eight holes actually meant to be filled with a string
the holes corroded to an ugly colour
I had suddenly the idea
to embellish the holes

using all kinds of TAST stitches
to disguise the holes ...

 AFTER

26 Jan 2016

Here it is

The paper piecing - table set

Now don't you look too intensively at the bottom left corner - yes

here real patchwork is speaking - I had to mend something here.

And probably it was late in the evening. The stitches are too coarse

and a few less than 7.

I will make it better - some day.

but - handquilted

This is my new project

squares - mounted by hand - again by hand - yes I need work

for the couch.

I learnt from Jude Hill to baste the squares with nearly invisible stitches

which were pressed beforehand over a piece of cardboard.

My centers will be filled with TAST (Take a Stitch Tuesday) stitches

instead of making another stitchbook. This is meant to end up on

one of my walls ---

Take a Stitch Tuesday #140 Threaded Cable Chain

This is stich no. 140 of Sharon's Tast stitches.
It is the last stitch for this year 2014.
She might go on in 2015 - if people are interested

I made four rows with different threads -
Among them a very thick fil a broder (Metz no. 3) -
then perle 8 and 5 and a metallic thread to pull through -
but its not my favorite - the thread is stiff and not easy to handle.

Celebrating a jubilee

Tast stitch no. 100 - Beaded Eastern Stitch
I made two wonky lines to make it a bit different. The yellow stitches
are made with perle 8. The red one with perle 5 and two larger
ones in between.
I nearly can't believe - every Tuesday a new stitch for two years.
Sharon of Pintangle.com started this stitch challenge on January 2, 2012
and this is the 100th one. Well, she will go on with it but not come out
with a new stitch every Tuesday anymore.
And it is ok to have breaks now and then. Learn more about Tast here
