Update aus dem Schwarzwald

We like to be in the BlackForest 

in our holiday house - 700 m above sea level -

it can be very sunny there while being foggy

in the plaine of River Rhine - Rheinebene 

Very cold in front of the house

A card wich I made years ago - and it is going to DSL (Schwägerin)

It is here just to remember me of things I made

Rundbändchen flechten nach japanischer Art

A very nice television emission for afternoons in

times when you don‘t have to work in the garden

Beause family gatherings were not possible due to covid19

we made seprarate photos during summer

and I put them together as a collage (thanks to Pic Collage)

Merry Christmas to whoever is reading this and

Creating during Corona

There were the „very nice mice“ of Ann Wood, fascinating

to make - and they are all gone and living somewhere else

Grandchildren took them as companions for summer

 

Those „keychains“ are practical and vey much used

Tanja Steinbach of SWR Kaffee oder Tee had this crochet lantern

in her little show - I - not lazy - of course had to create it

Dotee dolls - I love small things to make

My every too small hip bag was replaced by this one. Finally

large enough to carry the cell phone, the keys, the cap, a scarf 

This pair of mice are still waiting for their tails

Summer in Berneck

Destashing cotton yarn - crocheting over a clothline - something useful

for the table

Sweet peas from a neighbor`s garden but growing outside of the fence

...and fallow-dear in a private park near our house

so tame no fear - behind the fence

Breakfast on the market place - coffee and delicacies for free

for everybody - we were so much surprised to take part already in May

fun for children, too

...and a flea market - real flea market - look at the chaos in the van

crammed with old things - 

You make easily friends with people sitting near you.

We call it loggia , this „room“ - up to now we didn‘t do anything

in it - it has a door and steps to the garden

Ivy is coming through every little space in the loggia

a room which we don‘t use yet 

Lavender pillow made out of nothing  - little crocheting - lavender from the 

Adriatic sea - the fragrance so much more intense than ours

It‘s July and we enjoy the warmth in Black Forest - when it is not raining 

(like today with 15°)

No sight into our grassland

Yes, our garden is green - mainly green

and no sight down onto the lawn which is more or less a pasture, a meadow

and one branch is cut off -

I am sitting in the shade of the peartree - you can see the shadow

We had 37° in the afternoon. 

This photo was taken in the morning at about 10 am

It is a lovely place to knit - in the shade 

I am starting from the beginning with my cardigan - from top to bottom and 

I am now using the description for XL - L was too tight - imagine - my size is M.

This time I did no "tinking" (knitting backwards) but unravelled everything.

And this was done in about one hour - a very short time compared with

the six weeks of knitting which I spent.

But never mind.

I had to wind the wool with a "winding machine" - which son G. made for me ca.

35 years ago - Soaking and drying took one day.

Lets say the first try was practising. I am sure to make less mistakes in future.

But now I need something to relax.

Fabric beads are the solution - I used silk from scraps of blouses which I

made two decades ago - I bought it myself in China !!! It is very precious to me.

The variegated perlé for the crochet bauble is from Stef Francis.

The blouses are totally out of fashion - but I can't separate from them, oh oh.

I dyed the apple-green silk myself.

It is not tatting - river Ognon

Once more the lace.

I know now that this excellent lace is crocheted.

---- Question ---- And the circles?

and the flower - might there be needle-lace involved?

 

We do a little walking or biking every day - here to the bridge

and back - We like to look how waters of the small river Ognon

are changing - is it higher or lower - are there fish in it -

Our children and their friends started a kayak tour two years ago

from here to the next town Villersexel.

It wouldn't be possible now - the level is too low.

I do not know much about kayaking - they would probably have to

carry their kayaks a little further.

 

 

Change into a scrumble

What was like this ....

is now like that.

I would not say it is better - it need not be.

It is something ..... a nothing. - It is good for me at present

to have some cotton yarn run through my fingers.

Or call it a scrumble !

 

 

Little bag finished

I started it in spring

This is the final look and the colour is pretty well showing

It doesn't look square but it is: 19cm

Beautiful yarn - and the beginning of the border - which I also unravelled again

I crocheted the cord

I sewed in the zipper - today I saw that it is too short

So I took it out, replaced it by a longer one and made also a new lining

- because the red one was too boring and too tight.

I know, I know, the end of the zipper is not

sewn in properly. It will be closed most of the time and can't be seen anymore.

I let the lining peep through a little bit. The crochet border is made

by backward stitches (Krebsstich in German). I like this shoulder string -

I used double yarn.
