Not lazy

I start being lazy - walking on the high plane Schwarzwald
We (DH and me) love to walk a little then sit and admire nature

Mushroom - I am delighted but didn‘t take it -
„himself“ is distrustful

This one is edible - and a beauty

But then - I am also stitching
EPP English paper piecing - I am sewing along without
plan - it is still lying around like this - waiting for an idea
how to proceed

I am not wasting the backside but cutting it out and making  my
meditation stitching on it

Still no plan but fixing it on a background
How awkward -  I want to add more embroidery

Some painted Vliesofix  „Wonder Under“ from years ago
added and a date

It is a page for a collection of small works
And here again the front, quilted

Yes this is a butterfly bound book with little stitcheries

I bought a bookbinding tutorial of Anne Lange and I love
this kind of binding folded pages

Another page - a stitched leaf
Sharon Boggon is still publishing TAST stitches - and everybody
interested can take part - it is free

And yes, we met our grandsons - at MacDo‘s like always.
L is studying in Karlsruhe
Y came to visit
and the beautiful young lady - L - is the girlfriend of L
We are living 10 km outside of Karlsruhe so meeting in town
is more convenient - students have their own tight schedule

Again back in Schwarzwald - Blackforest

Our luck must be limitless with so many ladybugs/ladybirds
on the window outside
An invasion - they gather there when we start to heat

This is autumn folks and my view out of the bug-window

A little bit of everything

Every year something new on the tree - a perfectly
sewn fabric star of dear friend Angelika

The 4th tree of Mary Corbet‘s 12 Christmas trees
Goodness, how tiny, I should have made spiderweb
flowers, but it was too small for me. So I left it like
this. Find it at NeedlnThread Christmas trees

Making pages for a book - as I am interested in
bookbinding - but I need something to fill the covers.
I am using stitcheries and things of the past years.

Daugter D. gave me this writing paper with envelopes
many years ago. She printed the leaves and I kept
it and loved it and looked at it many times.
Finally I found that I should bind it into a may-be
book  - here with a machine stitched lace from the
class of Karen Ruane - with a little crossstitch rose

The back still needs some handling - this future book
can be altered whenever inspiration strikes

What about quilting lines depicting a house -
in the Black Forest in Germany.

Or sewn with thread -
I didn‘t make it - it is the result of my endeavors and
the help of the Superphoto App.

A lovely Christmas gift landed under the real tree

....and I will get seven more of this most wonderful
magazine full of inspiration - a gift that will last two years
and still afterwards - if you want to know more about it.

Now about those scribbles (sorry I am not a talented
designer):
Another dear friend D. mentioned a few days ago
-  not quite in serious -
what it could probably look like if one quilted the never-
ending talk of some people, the flood of words and I
thought speech bubbles connected to one another could
show best the clouds of words, the gush of words -
I made a big bubble.....
My advice:
practice it on your machine while keeping your cell phone
jammed between shoulder and ear - the practicing piece
may not be too large because you have to turn it round and round.

If you are in want of some very interesting quilting
ideas you could have a look at
Gefilte Quilt
you will laugh and love it

Without many more words:
A happy healthy creative new year to you my dear readers.

Notebooklet - Christmas trees

Time to do some bookbinding. Well bookbinding might be
slightly exagerated. It is a notebook DIN A5 for some
notes with very thin paper. I want to take it with me always
and it may neither be thick nor heavy.

es

The style of binding is called Schmetterlingsbindung
(in English butterfly binding - there exists certainly a better and
more professional name for it)

You do it with 4 needles for four holes - I bought a awl to
make the holes and it works very well - instead of using
a thick sharp needle

I took magazine papers and reinforced the double page with
„wonder-under“ - paper-backed fusible web.
The back cover is showing frozen berries.
I stitched through all signatures and through the front cover

The front cover and below the backcover

I left the binding threads hanging out - because I like it !

You might have seen it on Instagram - if not so
here is a fantastic design (I used another stitch) for „Trees for Christmas“
of Mary Corbet. Go to visit her blog
and you will see eleven more lovely designs for Christmas trees.
You can download the e-book for very little and get a perfect
description of it.
I like to support Mary because she had a very hard time the two last years.
But read yourself and follow her on her blog. Lots of hints and
book reviews and how-to stitch videos.

I used stem stitch and wrapped it

When grandsons were still children, I made this calendar to
count the days from Dec 1st till the 24th.

A calendar withouth sweets, but with stars to be buttoned on till the
Holy Night - 24th December (In German we all it Adventskalender)
