Street sale also known as vide-grenier in France

I did not sell much - a few old silver bracelets
which I wore as a.girl
I decided to separate from those little quilts -
nobody was interested

I thought that people overlooked them and so I hang them up
on the gate - with the second cloudburst they got draining wet
- and today they are still mine
Quite a disorder on the tables - but this is a fleamarket
A lady was interested in my fabric bundles - she returned once more
and took another one - a bundle was for 2€ - very bon marché
But I admit I didn't like the fabrics anymore -

DH is keeping me company - sitting under the sunshade
See the puddle near our table? The rain was so heavy  -  we ran with
plastic foils to cover things up
And used the parasol as an umbrella

Sun came up again  and we were happy to have the sunshade
in its proper use

DH is playing the piano behind the fence - and what do you think
He earned 1€ - yes 1 Euro -
The potholder grew during those 8 hours in the street ---
and is finished now. - The tablecloth is from - who do I know???
Could be from an aunt - cousin of my mother

More of the Quilt Triennial

"The man" - nothing happens without him - took the following photos

Photo above: 16-years-old prize winner Theresa Russow, Germany,
made the quilt top left -
sorry, sorry, it is so far away. You might find it later-on in a magazine.
It is quite a sensation. She won 1000 €

Of course I would have photographed also the names

so - I am sorry neither to know the authors by name nor the titles

Wow

Again something for me:

-----

Everything on the third floor of the little restored church

Details would be so good to see .... but helas - it is like it is.

on the gallery

The quilt downstairs on the left side is the prize winner no. 2 -

for innovation in a large format - Click in this post I showed a

detail - it is by Urte Hanke, Germany.

The Jury was set up of ladies from 5 different countries.

For me it is somehow worrying and I feel strange about it

- all three prize winners are from Germany.

I don't know how others feel about this.

17. Carrefour Europeen du Patchwork

Large and very famous quilt exhibition in Sainte Marie-aux-Mines, Alsace, France
We visited  last Friday - it is one hour from our house in the mountains
I will show just a few impressions

more on Facebook

I like especially the machine quilting on this
Sue Benner is the author

It is kind of zentangle - sewn with black thread
a few colour patches -
by Barbara Lange, Germany

A charming little quilt made of old laces

a French tea room
Theme: Country quilt

Interesting composition again Sue Benner

Ste. Marie-aux Croix -
One of those four villages where the exhibition took place

Look at those beautiful feathers made of paper
of late I am a feather fan

An insect's house in Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines
With the house behind it is not so clear but
one can anyway see the many small boxes with different holes in it
Small wood pieces, broken roof-tiles and
a roof on top of it all
