Not fabric but magazin pages cut into strips of 5 cm - then rolled diagonally

with the help of a knitting needle size 5. 

The pipe is flattened by means of rolling the needle along.

Then a pencil is the next tool for making the spiral.

Now the hot glue gun will come into action to stick all the spirals together.
