A combination of buttonhole stitches. The large circle is so called cutwork - which I learned at Karen Ruanes button class. A small piece of another fabric is being fixed from underneeth with buttonhole stitches. I made a double row so unluckily enough it can not be seen very well.
The Paisley design: I filled it with lacy buttonhole stitches in different colours
Again lace to the inside and beads in the middle The lace business is keeping me occupied - I love it
Love your samples Anneliese. I like how you used the colours of the fabric in the circle to set the theme for the colours of your threads. i like paisley too
Your buttonhole samples are really good Anneliese, so varied, and interesting. I especially like the paisley design. It is such a useful stitch, and so often used that perhaps we all take it for granted. It is good to re-visit such a stitch, and think about it in more depth.
Hi Anneliese, wow your work is beautiful. The paisley is gorgeous. How talented you are. Thanks for sharing. I have recently found your blog and am now following you, and will visit often. Please stop by my blog and perhaps you would like to follow me also. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Chris http://chelencarter-retiredandlovingit.blogspot.com/
I love all the different ways you have managed to find for the buttonhole stitch, Anneliese. Very creative. The lacy effect is worth the effort, it looks really good and the paisley is my favourite part of it. Di.
Such good variations of the basic stitch.
