WOYWW - 202 --- woollen blanket - new bauble

I got this far with my blanket
I am knitting about 10 cm each night looking at TV
Then I am bored and I go on next day.

You could stop on over at Julia's Stamping Ground click here
and have fun to look at many lovely ladies' workdesks on Wednesday
That's WOYWW

Please admire my "points"!! I think they are wonderful
and give the special extra to this blanket

of course it is slow to knit
the hanging little thing makes counting easier
I made it myself

And this is on my workdesk today - Wednesday
can you guess - a new bauble in a Liberty fabric with
a uni blue bottom. I found this little scrap in a scrap bag - really very little - but large enough
for another bauble.
And always with Angelikas needle book (it is always with me, hi Angelika if you read this)

It really looks that awful when I am working
but I am on the terrace with my little ironing board
(thank you Queeniepatch for the hint with the tablet)

It is beginning like that...

Sewn over thicker paper shapes

Assembling with tiny stitches

The photo is from my iPad - not good, not good!!
But so easy to take...

Bye bye

Woollen blanket

The better method to knit

I should show the bad side first - but this is the good one.
I knitted already so many times around and
found only now the way to make the joints really nice and flat

on the next photo you can see the bulges at the joints
I don't like them but I leave them how they are.
I am going on in a better way

And the blanket up to now....

Herringbone stitches

I was filling a small silken patch of the project which is to become a litte purse
it is stitch Nr. 53 the light blue ones, called herringbone square
and stitch No. 54 with the name laced square herringbone

SharonB of Pin Tangle is supplying us in a wonderful
continuity with new stitches to learn

If you are interested you can find more on this site http://pintangle.com/tast-faq/
scroll down to find all the stitches.
select anyone of them and you reach the stitch dictionary with
all the explanation how the stitch is done.
A really wonderful help.

I don't make another fabric book of stitches - I am adding
the related stitches on the page of my Tast 2012 stitch reference book.

Above is the 10 cm square feather stitch sample and on the edge
the triangular feather stitch, the inverted feather stitch and
the knotted featherstitch (from left clockwise)

Herringbone sample of last year with new stitches surrounding:
Laced square herringbone, raised laced herringbone and
herringbone square
(from left counter clockwise)

A little bigger: 50 x 57 cm - and already warming!

Woollen blanket and snow

My blanket - my knitting - folded to be taken away to the patchwork meeting
to work at it while talking

It was on Trekky's blog that I got the idea for the Ten stitch blanket
if you are interested in knitting or want to look at beautifully knitted things
go there and scroll up and down - full of inspiration.
And on this occasion: Thank you Trekky!

And now that:

see picture below

So I wont leave the house
and renounce to the very much awaited meeting - once a month
