120 Double herringbone 121 Twisted Lattice Band

You can hardly see the double herringbone stitch.

In the first row it is rather narrow and of course I made a mistake.

I stitched without reading everything.

Sharon says: "On every second stitch, slide the needle under the cross bar

created by the first row of stitches.

This means that the second row of herringbone is woven

or interlaced through the first row as illustrated."

So my first row is not at all what it should be: the twisted lattice band

I had to make stem stitches not catching the fabric beneath. The effect

is interesting, too. So I did not unpick it.

The second row is the proper twisted lattice band (121).

 

 

WOYWW 198 -- My desk rather tidy

I came back to my tidy studio desk yesterday after being absent for 16 days
I am leaving no mess but I am cleaning up before.

So today I prepared to finish a little challenge quilt 21,5 x 23 cm.

This pouch is really very sweet, nice material

it was given to me in a big department store, fabric department,  as left-over among many others

Stitch progress

Slowly I am filling my sampler band - every stitch will be shown with only a few - three or so stitches - important for me is the name which I am stitching with a single thread of a black of the six stranded thread. It will be my stitch dictionary of Tast2012 - I might hand it on the wall in my "studio" - or take it with me to the house in renovation ...

I took the photo with my iPad - it is not as sharp as I would like it to be.
The word Drizzle disappeared under the drizzle stitches.
