This is ....

.... how a fabric basket comes to being. I used only batiks.
The strips are sewn onto to lining. 40 strips all together.

 
It is gathered at the bottom and stuffed circles (16 cm) are sewn to
it from inside and outside. By hand because I can't reach it by
machine.

 

 

We are in France.....

And now look what this rainy and snow melting season

brings to us.

You know from my photos of last year's innondation

This is all cow meadows. Far away on the horizon the mountain

range of the Vosges can be seen.

So entsteht ein "Marktkorb" - 40 Streifen, die man während

des Aufnähens auf das Futter ausstopft, werden anschliessend

unten auf einen kleinen Durchmesser eingereiht. Auf die Öffnung

kommen innen und aussen zwei verstärkte Stoffkreise, von Hand.

Und das bringt uns die Regen- und Schneeschmelze-Saison:

Überschwemmte Kuhweiden - in der Ferne am Horizont

sieht man die Vogesen - ja, wir sind wieder in Frankreich.

  4. Love the strip basket. Beautiful batiks - they are the best! Lots of wet stuff around you. We are praying for sunshine for the next couple of weeks.
